Chicago’s Children Museum is a museum dedicated to children. The purpose of this museum is to influence as well as support the growth development of a child. Exhibitions are held for this purpose, with fifteen as permanent exhibition, to provide learning experience for children.
The timings of the museum for Sunday Wednesday and Friday are 10 am to pm and for Thursday and Saturday are 10 am to 8 pm. Children and adults are charged a fee of $9 while senior citizen are charged a fee of $8. Members and children under the age of 1 are free. In addition, to promote Children museum the first Monday of every month is free for children below the age of 16. A Kraft free family night is also arranged from 5 pm to 8pm to which admission is free for all.
Special programs and exhibitions are arranged throughout the year to attract visitors especially kids. One special exhibition is ‘How people make things’ which will be displayed between January 26 and May 11. This exhibition informs the visitors about the inspirational ideas, technologies and the process which eventually produces childhood objects. Activities are also organized to create interest.
Other exhibitions are ‘spring into science’ from March 20 and ‘Red Kite’ from April 18 to May 8. There are a number of permanent exhibitions as well some of them are ‘Play it safe’, ‘ Kids town’, ‘Water ways’, ‘Dinosaur Expedition’ and many more.
